Competed in cross country and track throughout high school. Currently enjoys running, weightlifting, and pilates.
Scientific Background:
Alyssa is a scientist at the Gatorade Sports Science Institute at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. She discovered her passion for exercise physiology and nutrition during her time at Auburn University, where she volunteered as a student worker for Auburn Athletics sports nutrition department. She also instructed classes at Orangetheory Fitness for 5 years before working as a medical assistant in sports medicine at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. Throughout her graduate studies, Alyssa engaged in coursework and research focused on macronutrient metabolism and integration, sports injury, and muscle physiology, aiming to bridge the gap between research and practical applications in sports medicine and nutrition. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with friends & family.
