Scientific background
Liam is a scientist for the Gatorade Sport Science Institute’s international team, based in the UK. Liam earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Reading, before completing a Master’s Degree in Sport Nutrition at Liverpool John Moores University in 2018. His dissertation was focused on physical load and the implications for dietary requirements in an English League Two Soccer team. Upon completion of his Master’s Degree Liam was employed as Head of Nutrition at Crewe Alexandra Football Club. Liam also has experience working as a nutritionist in the food industry; most recently at PepsiCo, where his work focused on supporting nutrition education and beverage innovation and renovation projects in the Europe Health and Nutrition Science team, as well as supporting the global ingredient scoping process. His current role with the GSSI involves sport nutrition support for Gatorade partners, including professional soccer clubs FC Barcelona and Manchester City FC, as well as managing and supporting GSSI service and education engagements internationally. In his spare time, Liam enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing sports and watching football (soccer).
