Dr. Tristin Brisbois, GSSI Affiliate and Principal Scientist, PepsiCo Canada Nutrition Sciences, leads the educational efforts in Canada on behalf of the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI). In this role she works to educate key influencers, such as dietitians and other health professionals, trainers and coaches as well as athletes through GSSI’s resources and website. Tristin also leads the development of content and resource material for Gatorade Canada outreach including the annual hockey summit, which reaches the top coaches and trainers in Canada. Tristin completed her PhD and BSc (Nutrition and Food Science) at the University Alberta. Her PhD investigated food intake behaviour in cancer patients who are suffering from loss of appetite, chemosensory alterations and muscle wasting. She explored mechanisms which may help healthy and disease populations gain lean mass and improve performance. More recently, Tristin has studied carbohydrate intake of various Canadian populations.
